Lace Layer Awarded FedEx Entrepreneur Fund Grant Through Hello Alice Boost Camp
Lace Layer Named a 2026 FedEx Entrepreneur Fund & Boost Camp Grant Recipient
We have news we're proud to share. Lace Layer has been selected as one of 30 recipients of the $10,000 FedEx Entrepreneur Fund through the Hello Alice Boost Camp program, presented in collaboration with FedEx and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN).
Hello Alice's Boost Camp accelerator supports entrepreneurs through a combination of funding, education, mentorship, and peer community — giving selected founders the tools and relationships to strengthen and scale their businesses over the long term. We are incredibly grateful to Hello Alice, FedEx, and GEN for creating a program that invests in founders who are doing real, meaningful work and need a boost to scale their businesses.
Lace Layer was founded by Arlene Baldwin after years of navigating alopecia and struggling to find products that could handle both the practical and emotional realities of wearing wigs. What started as a personal search for something reliable became a brand built on the belief that wig wearers deserve products that actually work — and a community that actually sees them.
For Lace Layer, this recognition goes beyond a dollar amount. It reflects something we've felt building quietly over the past few years — that the conversations our community has been having about hair loss, wigs, confidence, and everyday wearability deserve to be taken seriously. Not as a niche. As a real and meaningful part of the beauty industry.
This recognition means so much to us because it represents more than funding. Through Lace Layer, we've worked to create products and education that help people feel confident wearing wigs and more comfortable having open conversations around hair loss.
For so many women, wigs are part of everyday life — yet there can still be stigma around wearing them openly. As someone who built Lace Layer from lived experience with alopecia, being recognized through the FedEx Entrepreneur Fund and Boost Camp feels incredibly meaningful. It acknowledges a community of wig wears, who often goes unseen.
My experience in Boost Camp was genuinely valuable, and I'm deeply grateful to Hello Alice, FedEx, GEN, and the entire cohort of entrepreneurs who made it so impactful. This encourages us to keep building, keep educating, and keep helping normalize wigs as a tool for confidence, self-expression, and choice.
Today, Lace Layer carries a full line of lace wig products including lace adhesive, remover, skin protectant, tint, and freeze spray, wig perfume— available on our website and Amazon. Every product is designed with the same commitment Arlene started with: reliable hold, and real-life wearability for everyday women.
